In February 2019, Robert Alston Jr. was elected President of AFSCME Local 2921, representing D.C. Public Schools employees, including education aides and clerical staff. LaTasha Jones
Vice President
Latasha Jones is a champion for children who has served children, families, and communities for over twenty years. She now serves as ISS Coordinator at HD Cooke Elementary School. Her experience in multiple community, public, public charter, and private school roles ensures she has a unique perspective. Latasha is a mother, award-winning educator, holistic counselor, wellness coach, mentor, artist, entrepreneur, and advocate. Her persistent and perseverant spirit are evident in her mantra “Go forth and be great”.

Joseph Burno
Secretary Treasurer
Mr. Joseph Burno has been a paraprofessional at Tyler Elementary School for 13 years. He has a bachelor's degree in engineering from Brown University and a master's degree in business administration from Howard University. Mr. Burno is a certified track coach and marathon runner.
